The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a delightful place to visit. It consists of three jewels: the Jordan Valley, the Desert and the East Bank plateau. The fertile valley of the Jordan River runs from the Syrian border in the north, down the border with Palestine to the Gulf of Aqaba. This resembles 20% of the country where majority of the population live in this narrow 70km-wide strip. The remaining 80% is a desert, stretching to Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Jordan dates back to primeval times fostering humanity’s major monotheistic tenets, with a succession of great civilizations that left their innumerable remnants. Archaeological evidence of settlements for great cultures, more and above, its landscape is a paradise by itself. The country consists of unique varieties that make it next to none, for those who love nature. From the charming desert, to the greeneries of the north, the country is a paradise for eco tourism. |
