United Arab Emirates
In the U.A.E you will have ample opportunity to experience recreation in its broadest sense. If it is total relaxation that you require, then allow yourself to be pampered in a luxurious hotel where you can lie on a white sandy beach underneath the shade of a palm tree, occasionally taking a leisurely swim in a pool or warm sea. You may wish to spend an exciting day at camel or horse races, or watch top international stars compete on the golf or tennis course. If you are feeling more energetic you can work out at well-equipped leisure centers or participate in a range of sporting and other outdoor activities. You can visit the tourist attractions in each emirate, explore lively cities, the silent desert and rugged mountains, take a cultural tour of museums, art galleries and archaeological sites, or simply shop to your heart’s content. You will then have the difficult task of choosing a place to eat from a long list of excellent restaurants, not to mention a venue for your evening’s entertainment. Shopping is something of a national past time in the U.A.E and one of the major attractions for visitors. Glitzy state-of-the-art malls abound, but have not replaced traditional souqs (markets). The result is a thrilling mix of old and new where the very latest twenty-first century retail delights co-exist with ancient family run businesses that trade as they have done for centuries.
