Day 2 |
Beqaa Valley – Vine, Wine & Dairy products
Drive to Beqaa
Valley, visit Baalbeck – the greatest Roman temples in the world! After
then, pay a visit to Tannayal, an estate, now a farm owned by the Jesuit
fathers since 1860. It is a good introduction to agriculture in the
Beqaa valley. In addition to the usual farm animals, you can see a large
collection of exotic fowl including peacock and doves. A teaching
facility for the Faculty of Agriculture at Saint Joseph University,
Tannayel also has vineyards and fruit orchards. An artificial lake adds
to the beauty of the site. Locally produced dairy products. Overnight in
nearby town of Zahleh. |

Day 3 |
Beqaa>Beirut – Poultry
Drive to
Bzebdin, a Lebanese village where you will visit the most famous “Hawa
Chicken” which is a 100% Lebanese joint stock company for breeding
poultry and producing eggs. It is considered as one of the biggest
clusters for producing chickens and eggs in Lebanon, with an average of
20 million hatching eggs per year, which are daily sterilized to the
isolated incubators in the villages of Eddeh and Byblos which will be
visited before reaching the capital Beirut for overnight. |

Day 4 |
Southern
Lebanon – Bananas, Citrus & Olives
Orientation
visit to the capital Beirut then drive south, en-route visit the village
of Damour- the largest banana gardens in Lebanon. Drive to Tyre then to
Nakoura – the most famous and largest gardens for citrus which play a
vital role in Lebanese agriculture, accounting for as much as half of
total agricultural output. On the way back, pass by the Phoenician town
of Sidon to visit its Sea Castle and old covered market. Overnight in
Beirut |

Day 5 |
North Lebanon –
Apples & Olives
Drive to the
village of Baskinta- situated at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea
level and a traditional summer resort with magnificent view of
landscapes, where you will explore the world-famous Lebanese apple trees
for its quality and taste! More than 13,000 farmers produce over 160,000
tons of apples a year, which some times goes far surpassing demand.
Back to coast and drive further to the north towards Koura to visit a
family owned olive plantation established in 1959. The Mediterranean
climate that Lebanon enjoys in assition to the fertile clay soils of
Koura area make ideal for prosperous olive crop. Being family operation,
the olive trees receive a unique individual care. The olive press is a
stone press that combines tradition and technique under the same roof,
traditional enough to preserve taste and quality and advanced enough for
efficiency and cleanliness! Back to Beirut for overnight. |
